TIES THAT BIND is an innovative programme designed to assist 10 producers from Asia and Europe with potential European-Asian co-production projects.
This workshop is supported by the CREATIVE EUROPE – MEDIA subprogramme of the European Union and was set up in 2009 by the FVG Audiovisual Fund, EAVE, Udine Far East Film Festival with the collaboration of the Busan International Film Festival and, starting from 2015, in partnership with SAAVA (Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association), founder of the Southeast Asian Film Financing Forum (SAFF) in Singapore.
From the 24th to the 28th of April, Ties That Bind, the Asia-Europe co-production workshop which this year reaches its milestone tenth edition, bringing together Asian and European professionals in the development of film projects (under the guidance of highly skilled industry experts from both continents). Further activities include pitching sessions, case studies and individual meetings with decision makers. Amongst a range of issues, sessions will focus on script development, co-production between Asia and Europe, financing in the two regions, marketing and promotion, and the legal aspects of co-production. The workshop participants will work together as a group, as well as through individual consultation, and will have the unusual opportunity to get to know each other very well with the object of forming long term creative and business partnerships and networks.
The second session will take place next December in Singapore (Southeast Asian Financing Forum).
