Every year, the Venice Production Bridge is an unavoidable rendezvous among the cinema, audiovisual professionals involved in production, distribution and broadcasting. The ongoing success is not only confirmed by the increasing numbers (more than 2,700 accredited professionals during the fourth edition), but also by an enthusiastic feedback from all participants.
The 5th edition of the Venice Production Bridge, organized by La Biennale di Venezia, will be held from September 3rd to September 11th on the third floor of the Excelsior Hotel of the Lido di Venezia, during the 77th Venice International Film Festival (September 2nd – 12th).
Confirming its worldwide uniqueness, the Venice Production Bridge will propose the following events:
Venice Gap Financing Market (Sept 4 – Sept 6): The number of international projects will be up to 55 and will include the Biennale College Cinema and Biennale College Cinema Virtual Reality projects. During 3 days, the VGFM offers to the producers of feature films and documentaries, Interactive and VR projects the possibility to encounter financiers through 30-minute one-to-one meetings.
Book Adaptation Rights Market (Sept 4 – Sept 6): 25 International publishers will propose the adaptation rights of their works (novels, essays, graphic novels, children literature…) through one-to-one meetings with producers.
Final Cut in Venice (Sept 7- Sept 9): The eighth edition of this workshop will present a limited number of quality rough cuts coming from all African countries, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon and will give them the opportunity of finding the post-production financing through our partners and the participants.
Online VPB Market Screenings (Sept 3 – Sept 11): The Venice Production Bridge offers to accredited producers and distributors Online VPB Market Screening that will be organized for the entire duration of the Venice Production Birdge through Festival Scope Pro (pro.festivalscope.com), the B2B internet platform for film professionals. An individual password will be sent by Festival Scope Pro to the Industry Gold and Trade accreditation pass holders having the rights to view the registered titles.
European Film Forum (Sept 4 – Sept 5): the sixth edition of the European Film Forum (September 4 – September 5, 2020) will be held by La Biennale in association with the EU Media Program on the new theme ‘Fostering recovery & building resilience: Audiovisual as a key industry for Europe’s growth’ and as last year with the attendance of the European Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society, and key industry leaders.
VOD Market Day (September 4): EUROVOD from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. will organize its conference “DIVERSE, INDEPENDENT AND SUSTAINABLE: BUILDING EUROPEAN VOD” at the Hotel Excelsior, Spazio Incontri and streamed via the VPB Website on the VPB Live Channel, while from 2.30 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. 15 European VOD platforms and companies attending the European VoD Meetings will be able to propose their services to international distributors, rights holders and AV professionials through in-person one-to-one meetings. In order to book the meetings a reserved area VOD Market Day will be available to Industry delegates (Gold, Trade and Online VPB) on the website.
The Venice Production Bridge will offer traditional services such as the Digital Video Library, the Industry Gold Club, the Exhibition Areas, a Business Centre, and numerous international panels and networking events.
