The 2017 Chinese American Film Festival and Chinese American TV Festival will be held from October 29th to November 30th; a month long of Film & TV festival events including: Film & TV Summit, Film & TV Market, “The Golden Angel” Award Ceremony and over 10 seminars, discussions and screenings. Each year there are over 300 Film & TV production companies network and cooperate through the platform of the Chinese American Film Festival. There are over 500 outstanding films being screened every year with an audience of over one million people.
The Chinese American Film Festival TV Co-Production Summit is co-organized by the State Administration of Press Publication, Radio, Film and Television of People Republic of China (SAPPRFT) International Division and TV Drama Division. The Film Co-Production Summit is Co-Organized by PGA and China Film Co-Production Corporation, The Film & TV Market is Co-Organized by China Film Co., and China Radio and Television, Film & Television Union.
On behalf of the CAFF Organizing Committee, President Su Yantao delivered an opening speech, he said, “Chinese American Film Festival has spent thirteen years silently cultivating and building its strength; encouraging a deep connection between China and U.S through the art of film, building the Silk Road on the Sea through people and cultural exchange. I want to sincerely thank all the Chinese and American film artists for your continuous support, our team will be more dedicated than ever, we will always live by the core values of CAFF.”
The Chinese American Film Festival is organized by EDI Media, supported by the State Administration of China National Press, Publication, Radio, film and Television (SAPPRFT) and America’s Motion Picture Association, and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the U.S.. CAFF has received letters of Recognition signed by two Former U.S. Presidents, Obama and Bush. CAFF is also the only China-US Cultural exchange event to be formally written in the U.S. Congress report, as a part of U.S. History. CAFF is one of the first to be recorded in the 7th Round of China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and Cultural Activities as a national event. CAFF has also been included in the 112th Congress,「Congressional Record of 157 No. 194 document」, which praised the Chinese American Film Festival for promoting the cultural exchanges between U.S. and China with a high level of dedication, which was also written in the American history.
CAFF Organizing Committee has set up “China’s Outstanding TV Series Golden Angel Award” to provide a broader platform for the cooperation in the TV industries; there are over a hundred TV series participating in the screenings and the film festival submissions. G&E Studio in United States will broadcast the entire Chinese American Film Festival Award Ceremony. Over 50 countries and regions from North America, Europe, and Asia will be able to see the CAFF festivities. The grand kick off for the 13th Chinese American Film Festival will begin on November 1st.
