Multiple Events Hosted in 2017 Asian Film Market! ― Special emphasis on intellectual property rights

2017 Asian Film Market hosts specialized events to meet the expectations of film and media professionals.

Following last year, the events focusing on intellectual property have become even more remarkable. Asian Film Market events are composed of ‘Book To Film’ and ‘E-IP Pitching’ that introduce original works and web content suitable to other platforms as well as ‘Story to Film’ that evaluates production potential by introducing original stories. The ‘Copyright Forum’ shares practical approaches to protect copyright cinematic content and spotlights VR Cinema in ‘VR Conference’.

Events of 2017 Asian Film Market will be held from Oct 14th (Sat) to Oct 17th (Tue) in Event Room and Multi-meeting Zone at BEXCO Exhibition Center 2.

  • Book To Film

In its sixth year, Book To Film serves as a meeting place for publishers and filmmakers to meet and discuss the viability of adapting books into films. The 9 selections will be presented to various personnel from the film and media industries at the ‘Book To Film’ pitching event and business meetings.

  • E-IP Pitching

E-IP Pitching introduces original content from web dramas, web novels, web comics and other stories adaptable by entertainment industry professionals that can fit across multiple media platforms such as film and media. Showcasing 9 selections that went through fierce competition, E-IP Pitching offers a glimpse of next generation film and drama.

  • Story to Film

‘Story to Film’ is an event co-organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and the Asian Film Market with the hosting by Producers Guild of Korea (PGK). It presents award-winning works of ‘Korea Story Open Competition 2016’ for the first time. ‘Story to Film’, the former New Story Creation Project Pitching, is now on the verge of a new leap, introducing 8 selections to entertainment content specialists.

  • Copyright Forum

Copyright Overseas Promotion Association (COA) invites industry veterans in the copyright field and shares practical information and ideas. The Forum serves as an opportunity to improve awareness within the film industry. In respect of achieving sustainable solutions for online piracy, the Forum also reviews current copyright infringement practices and remedies related to cinema under the copyright framework.
